Share stands out as a stackable chair that can be used as a single, double, or triple unit. The individual chair can be stacked into one single unit or separated into three units, making it easy to store and rearrange according to different user needs. This innovative design allows users to maximize their limited space while providing ample seating options.

For those who purchase multiple sets of Share, the possibilities are endless. With two sets, users can comfortably host up to six guests, and with four sets, they can accommodate up to twelve people at a time. This adaptability makes Share a practical and functional choice for those living in small condos or houses.

Share is crafted using all wooden materials with minimal fasteners. It retains the traditional charm of a wooden stool while incorporating interlocking features to minimize its volume when stacked. The chair measures 440 mm wide, 440 mm deep, and 700 mm tall, ensuring both comfort and compactness.

Tong Jin (TJ) Kim embarked on this project in February 2015 in West Lafayette, IN, and completed it in September 2015. Extensive user research was conducted to understand the challenges faced by urban dwellers in terms of furniture usage and storage. This research, coupled with an analysis of existing market solutions, led to the identification of an opportunity area for Share.

One of the main challenges in designing Share was creating a mechanism that was both unique and intuitive to use. While there are many folding and stackable chairs available, most of them rely on similar mechanisms. Tong Jin (TJ) Kim overcame this challenge by developing a mechanism that was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Numerous prototypes were created to test and refine the mechanism, ensuring its effectiveness.

Share has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and creativity. Share's unique features, technical excellence, and artistic skill set it apart from other designs in the industry.
